To install the HP Photosmart C4480 printer using Windows’ built-in drivers, follow these steps:

Step 1: Connect the Printer

Power on the printer and make sure it’s connected to your computer via a USB cable.

Step 2: Open “Devices and Printers”

On your Windows computer, press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
Type control printers and press Enter. This will open the Devices and Printers window.

Step 3: Add a Printer

In the Devices and Printers window, click on “Add a printer”.
Windows will search for available printers. If your HP Photosmart C4480 appears, select it and click Next. If it doesn’t appear, click “The printer that I want isn’t listed”.

Step 4: Install the Printer Manually

Choose “Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings” and click Next.
Select “Use an existing port”, choose the appropriate USB port from the drop-down list, and click Next.

Step 5: Select HP Drivers from the List

On the next screen, choose HP from the list of manufacturers.
Scroll through the list of printers and find HP Photosmart C4480 (or a similar driver). If it is not listed, choose the HP Photosmart Series driver, which should work.
Click Next to proceed with the installation.

Step 6: Complete the Installation

Give the printer a name (or leave the default name).
If prompted, choose whether or not to set the printer as the default.
Click Next and wait for Windows to install the driver.
After the installation completes, click Finish.

Step 7: Print a Test Page

Once installed, you can print a test page to verify the installation. Go back to Devices and Printers, right-click on the printer, and select “Print a test page”.
