Option A: Ideal to configure and connect the equipment for the first time to the network. It’s also recommended if you don’t want to sign up for an HP account. Option B: If you have previously connected the device to the network, this option will be easier to use, note that you will need to have an HP account to use the equipment.
Notes:
If you are asked to sign in to a Microsoft Store account, you can either sign in, create one or close the sign-in screen and continue to install the HP Smart app.
If you are using a VPN network, you must disconnect from it before starting the download.
How to connect and install MY HP ENVY 5660 printer using a Wi-Fi network
Previous steps:
You must connect the computer or laptop to the wireless network.
All devices that will connect to the printer must be connected to the same wireless network.
You must know the name of the wireless network and its password.
If you don’t know the network name or security password, see the documentation provided with your computer or with the wireless router. If you still cannot find this information, contact your network administrator or the person who set up the wireless network.
You must turn on the printer and verify that the Wi-Fi network is active.
Make sure that no USB cables are connected to the printer.
If you use a VPN, please turn it off during the installation process.
Installation procedure
On the printer’s control panel, touch “Wireless”.
Tap the settings symbol (gear symbol).
Touch “Wireless Settings”.
Touch “Wireless Setup Wizard”
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
When you have finished connecting the device to the wireless network, download the driver indicated above, run it, and follow the instructions, during the installation remember to choose “Wireless connection”.

You have the following options:
Connection via USB cable: Turn on the printer and the computer > Connect the USB cable between both computers > Download the driver indicated above > Install the software following the instructions that are indicated on your computer screen.
Wireless connection (WiFi): Follow the instructions outlined in the previous section.
Wi-Fi Direct: You can also use this option, but in general it is a bit cumbersome for the common user, so we recommend using the wireless connection method described above.
Why is my HP ENVY 5660 printer not connecting to my computer?
If you are having problems with the wireless connection:
Check that the printer is turned on.
Verify that the Wi-Fi network is active.
Check that the computer and the printer are connected to the same network.
Check that the USB cable is not connected, if so, please disconnect it.
Make sure there is adequate distance between the router and the equipment so that the equipment can receive a strong signal, otherwise, you should place them closer to the router.
If the WiFi network name or security password has been changed, you must reconnect your printer using the new login credentials.
If the above doesn’t work, restore your printer’s wireless connection: From the Wireless or Setup menu, select Network Setup or Settings, and then select Restore Network Settings. Now you will have to go through the process of connecting and installing the printer again.
